Seventeen-year-old Ryley Pollock always wanted to help people, and as a certified nursing assistant at Augustana Lakeside in Dassel, Minnesota, he has plenty of chances to do so. At a recent auction at his aunt’s home, Ryley used his medical training and CPR to help save the life of a man who collapsed, until an ambulance arrived.
While Ryley’s first career choice is in law enforcement, he says he will also likely become a volunteer emergency medical technician and paramedic in the future. He believes working at Augustana Lakeside has taught him a great deal. “It’s a very rewarding feeling for me just to have the opportunity of helping people here, making sure they get what they need.” Learn more at KARE-11.
